Arrange professional maintenance if cooling takes longer than usual, airflow becomes weak, unusual noise appears, or electricity use rises without an obvious reason.
Know when replacement may be more economical
An older system that needs frequent repairs, runs continuously, or cannot maintain comfort may be a candidate for replacement. Compare the installed cost of a new efficient model against expected repair expenses and ongoing energy use rather than looking only at the purchase price.
